Brig Gen Dr Md Jalal Uddin (Retd) has been serving in the fields of medical and hospital management and medical and nursing education for about four decades. He served in Bangladesh Army and Bangladesh  Navy in various positions of command, staff, administration and instructions. He is the founding principal of Rangpur Army Medical College and Rangpur Army Nursing College. He served under deputation to Kuwait Armed Forces. Brig Jalal commanded a hospital of United Nations in Ivory Coast. As coordinator of Chattogram campus, he opened MPH course under Bangladesh Open University. Under his leadership, as Commandant, various courses (MD, MS, FCPS, MMEd, DMEd and postgraduate diploma) were introduced in Armed Forces Medical Institute under Bangladesh Medical University, Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) and Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons. He taught students of MBBS and MPH in various medical colleges including Chattogram Medical College. He is an examiner of BUP and ChattogramUniversity. He had been senate, syndicate and discipline committee member of BUP. He has no of publications and he edited no of medical journals. At present, he has been serving as the medical advisor to Grameen Telecom Trust and the chairman.
